My ps3 had been vertical for 5 6 years since getting it on its stand but now with a new medi centre unit my ps3 is lying flat my ps4 has been flat since getting it. I might have to stand one of my consoles vertically soon due to a lack of shelf space. Heard that many people having problems with the ps4 s are standing them upright wanted to see if there was any correlation. 40 votes 115 comments.

In the past i ve had issues with discs being scratched when standing a system vetically. There are vents in the sides both sides. Shop for ps4 stand at best buy. Find low everyday prices and buy online for delivery or in store pick up.

I personally have never done that with any of my playstation consoles. Considering the vents are on the side of the console. Ya maybe get one of those stand deals for it. It would also be safer to buy the stand to lessen the chances of it being knocked over.

Put the shiny side up for the intended orientation. Yes if you stand it vertically there is still a bit of airflow but not as good as if you stood it horizontally or with the stand the stand has vents.
